Oh Jesus, why didn’t You come?

Why would God choose the shepherds?
And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them. (Luke 2:8-9)
There can be awe-inspiring life transformation
And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.' (Luke 2:10)
How tough it must have been for them at times!
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. (Romans 15:13 ESV)
Those things weren’t for sale either, and they’re still not
Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God. (Luke 12:21 NLT)
One key to this relationship is simplicity
The earth is the Lord 's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein. (Psalm 24:1 ESV)
God often chooses unexpected people to do wonderful things
But Moses said to the Lord, “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.” (Exodus 4:10 ESV)
Let’s pray that He will give us His mind and His heart
Freely ye have received, freely give. (Matthew 10:8)
That’s pretty awesome, but it’s also a challenge

His encounter with Jesus completely changed his life

No matter what is happening in your life now
The eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you. (Psalm 33:18, 21–22 NIV)
We’re told that better things will make our lives better!
Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labour for that which does not satisfy? (Isaiah 55:1–2 ESV)
You must believe it in spite of every contradiction
Jesus said to him, "Go; your son will live." The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way. (John 4:50 ESV)
Look to it for light and guidance
For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life. (Proverbs 6:23 ESV)
As Christians we, like Him, are called to serve
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2)
Do we even know how to obey God?
Everything you were taught can be put into a few words: Respect and obey God! This is what life is all about. (Ecclesiastes 12:13 CEV)
If we didn’t have these challenges and tests
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2a)
Understanding someone is often key to building a strong relationship
Come to me,” Jesus says, “all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28–29 NIV)
We are unable to fully understand the greatness of God
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable. (Psalm 145:3 ESV)
