Can’t we love the same?
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7 NIV)
God has given us a better way
Teacher, we know that you speak and teach rightly, and show no partiality, but truly teach the way of God. (Luke 20:21
How does this apply to me?
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. (Matthew 22:37–39 KJV)
We show them Jesus
Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. (Ephesians 4:2 NLT)
Love that shows goodwill
But the greatest of these is charity (love). (1 Corinthians 13:13b KJV)
Oh yes you can!
Be not weary in well doing, for in due season ye shall reap if ye faint not. (Galatians 6:9)
What we can do, how we can react
The name of the Lord is a strong tower: The righteous man runs into it and is safe. (Proverbs 18:10)
But the Christian life is not to be lived in the natural
See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. (1 Thessalonians 5:15 ESV)
We can encourage and…
For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward. (Mark 9:41 NKJV)
We only benefit
But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” (Luke 10:29 ESV)
People of light
For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true) (Ephesians 5:8 ESV)
